How the MPH workflow runs

Six stages, each with its own tool, connected so your work carries forward.

  1. Step 1

    Plan

Frame a focused PICO or PECOT question and pick your review type.

  2. Step 2

    Search

Query 13 scholarly and clinical sources at once.

  3. Step 3

    Screen

Remove duplicates, then screen titles and abstracts with a second reviewer.

  4. Step 4

    Extract

Capture study characteristics and outcomes in structured forms.

  5. Step 5

    Appraise

Assess risk of bias, grade certainty, and pool results where appropriate.

  6. Step 6

    Report

Produce PRISMA 2020 diagrams, forest plots, and Summary of Findings tables.

MPH questions

What review types can I complete?

Systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence-based capstones, from question development through reporting.

Which sources does the search cover?

PubMed, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, Europe PMC, medRxiv, bioRxiv, DOAJ Health, PLOS, PMC Full Text, WHO IRIS, ClinicalTrials.gov, Google Scholar. Coverage and availability vary by source.

How are duplicates removed?

Records are matched on DOI and on near-identical titles with the same year, then merged so each study appears once with the best metadata from every source.

Can I get the full text?

Free full-text links appear when a source offers one, such as PubMed Central or an open-access journal. Paywalled papers link to the publisher page.

Can I rely on the AI output?

Treat it as a starting point. Verify claims, extracted data, and suggested assessments against the original studies before using them in academic work.

Mastering Scholar assists your research. It does not replace the original papers, faculty supervision, or your own methodological judgment.
